2016 Capital One Annual Golf Classic

This week, SRS hopped on a plane to Texas and participated in the 2016 Capital One Annual Golf Classic. At this event, Capital One collectively raised $387,000 that will be used to support local charities and groups, including the Boys & Girl's Club and The Samaritan Inn (If you would like to know more about the Boys & Girls Club or The Samaritan Inn, feel free to click on the previously highlighted text, their corresponding images above, or the buttons below). It was such an honor to get to meet some of the members of the Boys & Girls Club and to receive an array of wonderful handmade thank you cards. By the end of the golf tournament, Speedy Recovery had placed 3rd with an overall score of 49 (-23).  Our SRS Family would like to say thank you to Capital One for such an amazing event, and to Stonebridge Ranch Country Club for hosting the event at their luxurious golf course! 

The Boys & Girls Club

In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them.

Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more. Club programs and services promote and enhance the development of boys and girls by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence.

Boys & Girls Clubs are a safe place to learn and grow – all while having fun. It is the place where great futures are started each and every day.

The Samaritan Inn

The Samaritan Inn is more than just a place to spend the night. It is a comprehensive program that teaches self-sufficiency and life skills to meet the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. We help willing people gain dignity and independence.

On a typical night, approximately 160 people sleep at the Inn, of which 60 are children.

All services and support are provided free of charge through funding made from donations by churches, service groups and  organizations, corporations and individuals. The Samaritan Inn is a member of the United Way of North Texas.
